Where was the summer blockbuster?

With that vast amount of movies one is bound to have gone Blockbuster and the best we had to show for it was 22 Jump Street, an adolescent humor sequel that puts a smile on your face but not Blockbuster worthy. Actors from Mark Wahlberg to Tom Cruise all tried to win the title but only Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill made the cut. True we still have the latecomers hitting the office with good results. The remake of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle surpasses the 90’s version and Guardians of the Galaxy is another hit the unstoppable Marvel Franchise so there is still time for those to come through and save summer of 2014.

True Blockbusters came out in the Spring! Captain America The Winter Soldier came out in April so that doesn’t count towards the summer blockbuster. X-Men: Days of Future Past also did amazing at the box office but that was in May, in my opinion not summer. Amazing Spider-Man 2 was almost better than the first and blew out the box office but still that was in May. Maleficent, and Godzilla,  both got mixed reviews but again came out in May.
This year we had a great Spring Movie season a meh summer but Fall and winter is where its at! The real blockbusters are still to come. The Hobbit:The Battle of Five Armies, Gone Girl, and the first installment of the finale to the Hunger Games: Mockingjay part I. Watch these trailers and many more at www.yourmediaworld.com.
