Age of Extinction Transforms the box office but might as well be extinct

“Didn’t I already see this movie 3 other times?”  That is what I thought leaving the theater. Despite that the fourth installment of the Transformers franchise, Transformers: Age of Extinction, had the biggest opening of the year so far. I guess everyone thought they would see a new movie this time.

At 2 hours and 45 minutes the best part of the movie was the CGI. The problem is the movie just wasn’t good. This was like watching the first 3 movies over again with a new cast and a similar storyline.  The plot is the same as always: bad robots want to take over; humanity is left to the Autobots, screaming, running, and humans having to prove their worth. Besides the CGI the next best thing was the casting. Mark Wahlberg much better cast than Shia LaBeoff, not to mention better to look at. Plus Stanley Tucci, a highly underrated actor in my opinion, is great and adds some comic relief.

The movie ends much as all the other three did the ability for the saga to continue; Michael Bay has said this movie will kick off another trilogy of transformer movies…I hope they get a new plot before they do.

What it comes down to is, is it worth your time? Answer: No. Even with IMAX, 3-D and the amazing special effects CGI experience just wait and watch it at home.
