22 Jump Street Soars at the Box Office over How to Train Your Dragon 2

Summer's here and has two sequels to previous blockbusters are in theaters looking to pull audiences away from this weekends TV full of sporting events from the NBA Finals to the start of the World Cup, but the release of 22 Jump Street and How to Train your Dragon 2 brought in over $100 million this weekend; proving you can still just check the scores while in the theater.

22 Jump Street, reuniting Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill from the 2012 comedy remake of the popular '80s television show, proclaimed itself as the definitive winner of the weekend with an estimated $60 million. DreamWorks, How to Train Your Dragon 2, featuring the voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett, Djimon Honsou, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, &, Jonah Hill was seen as the favorite for the weekend but brought in $10 million shy of 22 Jump Street with only $50 million. But either way Jonah Hill won the box office this weekend.

Will this be a fluke and the as the weeks pass the true winner will be in fact the DreamWorks animated How to Train Your Dragon 2? Possible, However 22 Jump Street has solid reviews (83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes) and word-of-mouth ("A-" CinemaScore) suggest it will hold up decently in the coming weeks. What do you think?
