Movie Review : Prisoners

I just saw prisoners…. A week after opening weekend and the theatre is still packed.
The premise of the story is two young girls are kidnapped and one of their father’s, Hugh Jackman, takes the law into his own hands. The other girls father, Terrance Howard, goes along with it, though with some serious doubts. Jake Gyllenhaal plays the relentless cop that always get his man looking for the kidnapped girls.                                                            There seems to be some back story about thecop that Gyllenhaal plays but they don’t go into it that just makes you feel like you have missed something about his character.

The actors really make this movie. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhall really make you feel the characters pain you connect with them.  This is another example of how dynamic an actor Hugh Jackman is. From x-men to les miserable to this every role he takes he is completely believable and I am not left thinking why is wolverine trying to act like a father.

The story line is good and leaves you on the edge of your seat cringing at every scene. I literally saw people cringing in their seats and covering their eyes in anticipation.  While I did think the bad guys in the movie were a bit obvious they add a few twists that you don’t expect and the ending leaves you with lots of questions and possibilities. So don’t go into this thinking the ending will be tied up with a bow and you have all your questions answered. I don’t want to give anything away but what I can tell you is I’m gonna go buy a red whistle…lol figure that one out without seeing the movie.
I would definitely say this movie is worth your time and your money. Share your P.O.V. at www.yourmediaworld.com.
